Fishing around Caye Caulker |
| Belize is known as one of the worlds best fishing destinations. Anglers choose Caye Caulker, Belize for many reasons. A major reason is the diversity of fishing including Permit, Bonefish, Tarpon, Barracuda, Snapper, Grouper... (to name a few). Another reason is that if you want to throw your fishing line right off one of the Island piers or in the shallow water that surrounds the Caye, the ability is yours.... just say Gone fishing! You can rent some fishing gear locally. If you are really serious, bring your favorite rig. Experienced fishing guides are available for half or full day excursions and can provide all your gear. For a real deep-sea fishing adventure you can hire a guide and try your luck for a Blue Marlin, Kingfish, Wahoo, Tuna..... Or if you elect to fly-fish you can walk right off the Caye in the flats and cast your line. We work with local fishing guides and can make arrangements for you. If you catch the big one and want to eat it too, we can arrange a restaurant to cook it for you! Bonefish, Barracuda, Marlin, and Snapper fishing is good all year round. Sailfish, Tarpon, and King Mackerel are best in the Spring to late Spring. Grouper and Wahoo are best in the Winter months. |
